Great place to eat!  We sat outside by the church and watched the bike riders and folks strolling past.  The service was friendly and our food came out quickly.  We ordered the wild boar sausage dinner and venison & gravy dinner.  Both were delicious. Fortunately, we arrived just in time because they close at 5 pm.

I don't understand the low ratings for this place. The staff was very friendly. The woman who helped us helped us pick our beer and dessert. "Lovely!" (her favorite phrase). We got a shepherd's pie (good), scone (AMAZING) and baguette with butter (couldn't get enough of this). This place a beer was about 16 pounds. We sat outside and enjoyed our delicious meal.

    Sandwiches! Food! Tea!

All decent. All decent prices. Lots of cheese on the toasties; not really enough chips, but it was like a fiver.

So, fine. Not stellar, but in the land of Pizza Express and Wetherspoon's, the one-eyed-sandwich shop is king.

Carwardines is a cafe come restuarant. It has alot of seating inside and outside. Most people just stop by for a coffee with friends however they do serve quiet and extensive menu of food from toasted sandwhich's to soup and rolls. The staff are friendly and the service is good. Its cheap and cheerful food rather than fine dining however.

I visited this coffee shop with Sister, Niece and Great Niece on Thursday 23rd June. Large sign outside saying 'Licensed' Great soft drinks for youngsters and Large Glass of Wine for Adults after a morning shopping!! Baby needed changing, headed off to Ladies only to find no baby changing facilities at all, not even a table or mat. Only option open was the floor which was filthy, we had to lay one of our jackets on the floor to enable us to change her. Nowhere to put nappy, no bins of any description were visable. Went to buy drinks, no wine!!! we pointed out that it did say licensed and were told that they had run out and no one had ordered any more!!!
This was the first and last time that I would visit this establishment. Our overall rating of this place was dirty tables, filthy floor, no proper facilites and more importantly no WINE. Staff were totally unhelpful when asked about changing facilities. They really could not have cared at all.
